Wyoming has one drive-in theater, the American Dream Drive-In outside Powell in the northwest part of the state.
View All Drive-InsThe American Dream sits on Road 9 and has been open since 1948. It has a single screen with room for about 200 cars and runs seasonally with sound on FM radio. Powell is in Park County, about 25 miles northeast of Cody and a little over an hour from the east entrance of Yellowstone National Park.
It's the only drive-in in Wyoming, a state where wide-open spaces and low population density make outdoor theaters hard to sustain commercially. The proximity to Yellowstone brings summer tourists through the area, which helps the seasonal operation.
