The Boulevard Drive-in Theater in Kansas City is one of the most well-known in the region. Open since 1950 with room for 600 cars, it was the first drive-in in the world to install digital sound and 4K projection, and it runs a popular weekend swap shop. Visitors from the Missouri side can find it on our Kansas City city page. The Starlite Twin Drive-in in Wichita is the state's largest, fitting 1,300 cars across two screens, and was nominated for best drive-in theater in the country by Newsweek in 2025.

The Midway Drive-in between Paola and Osawatomie sits about 45 miles south of Kansas City with a single screen and a playground. In central Kansas, the Kanopolis Drive-in has been showing movies since 1952 and recently installed a new 4K laser projector. The South Drive-in in Dodge City is the oldest operating drive-in in the state, running since 1947 with a flat $20 per carload admission.
