Georgia Drive-Ins

Georgia has five open drive-in theaters, with options ranging from a major four-screen operation in Atlanta to small mountain venues in the north and a historic single-screen in the southeast. The warm climate allows long seasons, and several operate year-round.

The Starlight 6 Drive-in on Moreland Avenue in southeast Atlanta is the clear standout, with four screens and first-run double features since 1949. It is one of the largest drive-ins in the Southeast, drawing visitors from across the metro area. See our Atlanta city page for more details.

Three of the five drive-ins are in the north Georgia mountains. The Swan Drive-in in Blue Ridge has been running since 1955 and features a diner with carhop service. The Tiger Drive-in, open since 1954, sits between Lake Burton and Lake Rabun with all-grass terraces. The Wilderness Outdoor Movie Theater in Trenton opened in 2005 near Lookout Mountain with two massive screens and room for over 1,000 cars.

The Jesup Drive-in in the southeast rounds out the list as the oldest in the state, open since 1948. It reopened in spring 2025 after Hurricane Helene caused $350,000 in damage to both screens and fencing in late 2024.
