The Starlight 6 Drive-in on Moreland Avenue in southeast Atlanta has been showing movies since 1949. With four screens, digital projection, and first-run double features, it is one of the few drive-ins in the country operating at that scale. Admission is $10 for adults and just $1 for kids ages 5-9. It runs April through September, weekends in the shoulder months and up to four nights a week during peak summer.

The Swan Drive-in in Blue Ridge, about 90 miles north, is a single-screen operation open since 1955. The drive up takes roughly an hour and a half, and the theater's diner with carhop service makes it a solid day-trip option for anyone heading into the north Georgia mountains.
