Drive-Ins Near Tupelo

Mississippi has just one operating drive-in theater, and it is about 90 miles northeast of Tupelo in the small town of Iuka.

The Iuka Drive-In sits on West Quitman Street near the Tennessee and Alabama borders in the state's far northeast corner. Open since 1957, it is a single-screen operation running seasonally from spring through fall with sound on 88.3 FM. The drive from Tupelo takes roughly an hour and a half on US-72.

That distance is significant, but the Iuka is the only game in town for anyone in Mississippi looking for a drive-in movie night. The theater's survival as the state's sole remaining drive-in gives it a loyal following that draws visitors from across northern Mississippi and the neighboring corners of Tennessee and Alabama.
