Drive-Ins Near Louisville

Louisville's nearest drive-in is the Sauerbeck Family Drive-In in La Grange, about 30 miles northeast of the city along the I-71 corridor.

The Sauerbeck opened in August 2018, built from the ground up by a local family rather than converted from an older theater. Its 98-foot screen uses 4K digital projection, and sound broadcasts on 90.3 FM with radios available for rent at the gate. The season runs April through November, covering the full warm-weather window.

It is the only drive-in within easy reach of the Louisville metro, and the roughly 35-minute drive to La Grange puts it within range for a weeknight outing. The Georgetown Drive-In across the river in southern Indiana is another option for those willing to cross into the Hoosier state.
