The Southington Drive-In sits about 20 miles southwest on the Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike. It's a community-owned, volunteer-run theater that reopened in 2010 after an eight-year closure, with all proceeds going to local nonprofits. To the east, the Mansfield Drive-In is about 30 miles out on Stafford Road. Open since 1954, it runs three screens and also hosts one of the largest flea markets in eastern Connecticut. Both theaters operate seasonally and broadcast sound on FM radio. Connecticut only has these two drive-ins left, so Hartford is well-positioned to reach both of them.
