Drive-Ins Near Greenville

Greenville's closest drive-in is the 25 Drive-In Auto Theatre in Greenwood, about 60 miles south along the Highway 25 corridor.

The 25 Drive-In has been open since 1945, making it one of the oldest continuously operating drive-ins in the Southeast. It expanded to three screens in 2009 and shows movies on Friday and Saturday nights. Each screen broadcasts on its own FM frequency (104.1, 105.1, and 106.1), and the digital projection keeps the picture sharp. The drive from Greenville takes a little over an hour on US-25 through Laurens County.

There are no drive-ins closer to the metro area, but the 25's three-screen setup and long history make the trip worthwhile for a weekend outing. No other drive-in in South Carolina's Upstate region has survived.
