The Belmont Drive-In sits on McAdenville Road in Belmont, roughly 15 miles west of downtown. Originally opened in 1949, it went through a digital upgrade and re-opened in 2023 as a single-screen operation. Admission runs $25 per carload, making it a good deal for families. The season runs April through November.

Farther out, the Badin Road Drive-In in Albemarle has been running since 1948. Its two screens show double features during the season, and the 45-minute drive east takes you through Stanly County's quieter countryside. Both theaters use digital projection and broadcast sound over FM radio.
