Drive-Ins Near Charleston
Charleston's closest drive-in options are about 60 miles southeast, near the New River Gorge in the southern part of the state.
View Drive-InsThe Starlite Drive-In in Oak Hill opened in June 2022, one of the few drive-ins built from scratch in recent years. It shows double features Thursday through Saturday on a single screen, with admission at $8 per person (cash only). The drive from Charleston takes about an hour on US-19 through Fayette County.
The Meadow Bridge Drive-In, also roughly 60 miles southeast, is the smallest drive-in in West Virginia with a capacity of just 180 cars. It runs weekends only from Memorial Day through Labor Day, and the box office is cash only. Both theaters are close enough to the New River Gorge to pair with a day of hiking or rafting, making the distance from the capital city easier to justify.
