Drive-Ins Near Boston

Two drive-ins operate within about an hour of downtown Boston, both running seasonally with sound on FM radio.

The closest is the Mendon Twin Drive-In in Mendon, about 40 minutes southwest via I-495. It sits on 16 acres with two screens, a snack bar, and a beer garden. The Wellfleet Drive-In on Cape Cod is about 90 minutes southeast on Route 6 and has a single 100-foot screen. In season, it shows first-run double features nightly and also has a flea market and mini-golf. The Northfield Drive-In on the Massachusetts-New Hampshire border is about two hours northwest but worth the trip for its 500-car lot and state-line history.
