Missouri Drive-Ins
Missouri has ten operating drive-in theaters, with a heavy concentration in the Ozarks and the southern half of the state. The Starlite near Cadet has two screens and runs from March through October about an hour south of St. Louis.
View All Drive-InsThe Ozarks region has the densest cluster. The 21 Drive-in in Van Buren sits in the Ozark River Valley with a 600-car capacity and one of the largest screens in the state. The Phoenix in Houston combines an indoor theater with an outdoor screen. The Pine Hill in Piedmont has been open since 1953 along MO-34. The Twin Crescent in Buffalo, opened in 2022, sits 30 minutes north of Springfield.
Southwestern Missouri has three options along the Route 66 corridor: the 66 Drive-in in Carthage on the historic highway itself, the Barco in Lamar, and the Sunset in Aurora. In north-central Missouri, the B&B Moberly Five and Drive pairs an outdoor screen with an indoor multiplex.
In the southeast, the Rock 'N' Roll Drive-in near Chaffee opened in 2020 on the site of the old Montgomery Drive-in and shows movies and live music on Friday and Saturday nights. All ten theaters use digital projection and FM radio for sound.
